1. Where do you think the market is headed?

The outlook is very positive, partially since the federal election and with continued low interest rates, buyers have been extremely active. As long as home sellers don’t become too greedy the market should remain strong.

2. Do you think that spring buying season is well and truly here?

Spring is definitely here but the commonly held belief that Spring is the time to buy or sell is a myth. Statistically as many sales take place in Summer, Autumn and Winter as in Spring. It does make home opens more pleasant though.

3. Do you think now is a good time to invest?

Yes, as long as you choose the right type of property in the right location. Properties under $500K and properties with a significant land components will always be a good investment.

4. What advice would you give to young first home buyers?

 Only spend up to a maximum of 75% of what the bank will give you, otherwise your new home may become unaffordable if interest rates go up or your personal circumstances change.

5. What are the most popular suburbs in Perth for first home buyers?

In my area of specialisation, Dianella, properties on at least 300sqm of land and under $500k are partially popular with first home buyers.
